COVID-19 Response Plan April 2020-July 2020


1. Generate and raise awareness on hand -washing, social distancing and staying-at-home as part of COVID-19 Prevention. Ensure housing, nutrition, access to social services and productivity

Use the days to engage in Health and Wellness Promotion integrating COVID-19 Response:

a. Thematic Monday: Occupying oneself at home while self-isolating; games, house chores, reading, writing, studying online or any other activity that will not put one in danger of acquiring germs which make one vulnerable to COVID-19; avoid exposure to threats or contravening COVID-19 country restrictions such as curfew, social distancing rules and conflict with standard laws.

b. Thematic Tuesday: Chatting up friends, checking on them and promoting companionship using WhatsApp or video conferencing. Ensure that one engages in activities that promote companionship while making sure they are promoting life and happiness.

c. Thematic Wednesday: Talk, write or research about COVID-19 news and share on Blog, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or word of mouth among close friends. Share statistics, news, human interest stories and the like. Life has to go on!

d. Thematic Thursday: Care for the sick, Addressing Gender-Based Violence, Elimination of Violence Against Women and Girl Child, Women health Integrating COVID-19 Response.

e. Thematic Friday: Youth-Friendly Services Integrating COVID-19 Response such as: Family planning, Sexual Reproductive health and general body hygiene counselling and guidance.

f. Thematic Saturday: TB, HIV, Malaria, Men's Health and healthy living Integrating COVID-19 Response including civic duty responsibilities for all people. Ensure households have masks, gloves, detergent, disinfectant, mosquito treated nets and other healthy living promoting materials. Provide opportunities for individuals to go through the activities rendering health promotion possible.

g. Thematic Sunday: Weekly Review of all Pro-active and reactive Activities Promoting COVID-19 Prevention/Promote and engage in Universal Health Coverage Advocacy.
